The annual charity function of Al Noor & Saksham, a non-governmental organisation. Aapki Soniya, a play directed by playwright Salim Arif, was also staged at the gala ceremony.

The highpoint of the evening was the play starring actors Farooque Sheikh and Sonali Bendre. The emcee for the show, actress Mandira Bedi, was her usual lovely self. Al Noor's founder and wife of Vice President of India, Salma Ansari graced the occasion. Also present were actresses Sushma and Divya Seth, Bangladesh high commi-ssioner Tariq A. Karim.
