Chandigarh, Nov. 1 -- With the amount of cricket and jetting across cities increasing, the injury count is on the rise too and it's not restricted to the visitors anymore, even though James Hopes became the third Australian to be ruled out because of fitness problems. The seven-match series that will reach the midway stage on Monday has already seen several casualties and although not ruled out yet, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir have joined the list of doubtful starters. Both got hurt in Saturday's game - Gambhir got hit on the neck by a shot from Ricky Ponting while fielding at forward short-leg and Sehwag was struck on the left foot by a fast one from Peter Siddle.
Australia had already sent back Brett Lee and wicketkeeper Tim Paine. While Lee succumbed to an elbow injury suffered earlier, Paine fractured a finger in the second game. Down with a hamstring injury, all-rounder Hopes will also fly back. Clinton McKay has been named Lee's replacement.
