New Delhi, Oct. 31 -- Ranbir Kapoor on his upcoming film Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.. What is the most ajab thing about this gajab prem kahani?
It's a very sweet romantic film, packed with humour and emotions. It's a true masala entertainer. There's there's no reference for our characters, but it's backed by a very strong script and direction. What made you sign such a film, especially after films like Wake Up Sid and Saawariya?
First factor was the script. When Santoshiji narrated it to me, I was laughing throughout. Second was Rajkumar Santoshi, the director. And third the combination of Katrina and Tips - two big brands together. It's gamble, just in case the film doesn't do well, I will still be very proud of it. I will never disown it. How do things change, when you have a commercial and critical success like Wake Up Sid behind you?
Every Friday things change in this industry. As an actor I would never like to sit on my past success. I am still as nervous about this film, as I was on the eve of the release of Saawariya or Bachna.. Wake Up Sid has brought an immense creative satisfaction. Ajab... is much bigger film, made on a bigger budget for larger audience. Here I'm going to be judged on even bigger scale. It's a hard film. I'm more nervous than excited. What is the best compliment you have got for your performance as Sid. Not the generic ones, but one specific?
Umm.. there are many, but I guess the most special is what Shah Rukh Khan said. I met him at a party and he said, "At this age you should not be acting so well. When we started out we were not so good. What will you do 10 years hence, you will get bored of it." I guess that was really sweet.
