India, Oct. 27 -- The third day of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) witnessed a volley of premium showings by participating designers. Sanchita, Namrata Joshipura, Manish Gupta, Vineet Bahl, Sanskar by Sonam Dubal, Pashma, Vineet Bahl, Small Shop by Jason and Anshu Arora and Varun Bahl - all offered what a commercial runway needs - stylish, well finished and saleable designer wear. Sanchita showcased a collection of perfectly finished creations. Black linen dresses, navy jersey tops with dhoti pants, jersey satin combo teal dresses, et al shimmered in style. Namrata Joshipura's well made collection of stylish garments consisted of dresses, sequin tops, long net gold dresses and 'dome' jackets and skirts. Sonal Dubal's collection had white sun dresses, pleated dresses, sequin embroidered pants and Chanderi white flower patch dresses. Another label that never fails the audience is Small Shop and this time too they had some of the most stylish offerings on the ramp.

Earlier in the day, in two different shows, some of the young designers showcased their designs. Of the lot, designer duo Gaurav & Ritika had that extra edge that is needed to take them forward in their creative journey. Joy Mitra had some interesting pieces in his collection as well. Parvesh Jai should move away from their unsuccessful effort to be racy and start doing something that is pleasing to the eye. Their ill-fitted swimwear, I thought, may just be ill-fated for the wearer, especially while coming out of the water. Others who showcased were AM-PM by Ankur and Priyanka Modi, Nikhita Tandon, Nimirta Lalwani, Raman Vij, Umesh Vashisht and Preeti S Kapoor. The third day too ended on a promising note.
