So strict that one of them calls him a "murderer of love".

But life's about to change. Dan and his daughters take a trip to his parents' home town.

Dan visits a bookstore where he's mistaken for an employee by a beautiful woman, Marie (Juliette Binoche). Of course, the two are meant for each other, but the path of true love can't run smooth.

In this case, the problem is that Marie is the girlfriend of Dan's brother Mitch. Family tension ensues, Dan learns to loosen up with his daughters and there's a feel-good ending with man getting woman.
