Rahul Bose has bought the rights of Pakistani British author Mohsin Hamid's Moth Smoke. He had planned to start shooting the film by the year end but now will start only next year.
Juggling with multiple projects, he just doesn't have the time, or so the buzz goes. But Rahul has a different reason for postponing the shoot.
"I want to film in Delhi, Lahore and Patiala. And during November and December, these areas are very foggy.
So shooting will be difficult. That's why I have decided to start early next year," he says.
Border issues The actor has yet to apply for permission to shoot in Lahore. "I'll give it my best shot because I'm keen to shoot across the border.
But if things don't work out, I'll look for an alternative," he informs. He has finalised the technical crew but Rahul is taking his time over the casting.
"I need committed actors," he asserts. Reportedly, he has approached Sushmita Sen.
"No, trust me, I haven't approached anyone. But I intend to do so, very soon," he replies.
Options open The actor is not sure if he'll be acting in the film. "I did a small role in Everybody Says I'm Fine but this film is darker.
But then, never say never. So I'm keeping my options open," he laughs.
Rahul won't yet say whether he'll be producing the film himself or tie up with a corporate house. He diplomatically says that he will make an official announcement in a month's time.
