FORMER STATE BJP chief Om Prakash Singh said on Sunday the BJP would not extend its support to the Left Front for electing Mayawati as Prime Minister. "What the BJP wants through the confidence vote in Parliament is the immediate holding of Parliamentary election, which is expected to be held till November this year.
We shall come before electorates in ensuing election with issues like pricehike and Amarnath Shrine Board land," he said. Singh added, "Focusing on Lal Krishna Advani as the Prime Ministerial candidate of party, we would contest the election.
" Talking to journalists here on Sunday, he said politicians facing CBI inquiries were engaged in deciding the political future of the Central and UP governments and tainted politicians were busy saving the Central government at the moment. "Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and BSP chief Mayawati both are facing CBI inquiries and are supporting the UPA government and the Left Front in the make of confidence vote in the Los Sabha for their vested interests.
It was the BSP, which during the election of the President, had supported the UPA," he said.
