DUE TO the indifferent attitude adopted by the BJP government in Rajasthan, Gujjar leaders on Tuesday issued a 48-hour ultimatum to implement the agreement signed between Gujjar chief Col K S Bainsla and Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on June 18, 2008. Gujjars leaders have threatened to revive their agitation if the government failed to meet their deadline.

As per the accord, the state government had agreed to send a letter of recommendation to the Centre to include Gujjars in ST category, release those arrested during the agitation, and, include a 5 percent reservation in jobs. Gujjar leader Har Parsad Tanwar, said, "More than 64 people are in jail, but the government is yet to release them.

" He said the government had promised to withdraw cases registered against them, but nothing had been done so far.
