UNION MINISTER of State for Home Sri Prakash Jaiswal on Tuesday said the Congress and the Samajwadi Party had so far not discussed the issue of any alliance or seat adjustment in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. "There has been no discussion on the issue so far," said Jaiswal while talking to media persons here.

Jaiswal, however, lauded the Samajwadi Party and its chief Mulayam Singh Yadav for supporting the Indo-US nuclear deal. He said the deal would prove to be a boon for the coming generations.

It was good to know that a political party from Uttar Pradesh had come forward to support the deal, he said, adding the SP too had supported it in national interest. Replying to a question he said the CBI was free to take any decision on the investigations in the cases against political leaders and the Centre had no role to play in it.

Jaiswal said the left had its own prejudices about the deal. The BJP's opposition to it was, however, beyond anybody's comprehension.

The BJP would have to suffer for its stand on deal in the Lok Sabha elections, he said. Referring to the Jammu and Kashmir government's decision to reverse transfer of land given to the Amarnath Shrine Board Jaiswal said the BJP was making attempts to politicize the issue.

The Congress government reversed its decision only to ensure peace in J and amp;K, he said. The BJP should refrain from such acts to ensure that there was no threat to internal security, he said.

The J and amp;K tourism department would now provide the same facilities at four places than just at one place, he said adding, these places where facilities would be provided include Pahalgam, Baltal, Chandanbadi and Amarnath. Asked about the State Government's request to recall six IPS officers from deputation to the CBI, he said recalling of officers was a normal exercise.

The Centre would seriously consider the State Government's request, he said. Jaiswal also met the Governor TV Rajeswar to discuss the issue of compensation vis- and #224;-vis the damage caused to property in the 1984 riots.

A decision to enhance the compensation against property damage was taken during the tenure of Moti Lal Vora as Governor, he said adding, the Governor had assured him to make efforts to implement the decision.
