It seems the city is turning considerate towards dogs. Increasingly, people are embracing even street dogs as part of the family.

Call it eccentricity, dogs are finally discovering the sinful pleasures of life. Not only are pet care centres mushrooming, but we are witnessing a booming pet fashion industry also.

But we bet, you haven't heard of this one and #8230; Doggie's day out You don't have to face the dilemma of where to leave your dog while you are out on a dinner date anymore. Now there's a place where your Tommy can have a blast, along with you.

Spread across the sprawling 32nd Milestone resort, Bow Wow, a canine club, is just what you are looking for. From day care to a swank restaurant for your dog, the place has it all.

Owner Mamta Sharma, says, "The whole thing started as a fun activity. My family adores our pets Susti, Masti, St.

Bernard and Cleo (named after Cleopetra). Whenever I had to go for an outing, I'd want to take them along with me.

This eventually prompted me to set up my dream dog home about three years ago. It was never meant for business, so we never made a hue and cry about it.

" Yummy wonders If you are keen on having a fine dining experience along with your Percy, you have to visit the restaurant at Bow Wow. Sharma has dedicated a good part of her home to a dog restaurant.

"Setting it up was quite difficult. We consulted several vets and then finally zeroed in on the menu.

The expenditure hits me as it's equivalent to my entire grocery shopping for a month, but the feeling is great," shares Sharma. We cannot argue with her on quality or quantity.

Once there, your dog will be spoilt for choice. The restaurant serves an exhaustive menu with select vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.

They have everything you'll find in any other restaurant. The menu includes soup, appetisers, snacks, main course and sweet dish.

The names are just as tantalising, such as Crunch-n-Munch (an assortment of veggies and fruits), Subz Slurpz Shorba, (vegetarian soup with a variety of dog breads), a yummy Pupparoni Pizza topped with some finely chopped meats and finally the Paw-Widge (an awesome porridge). And, for all those diet conscious ones, the restaurant also has a collection of low fat dishes.

Matters beyond the tummy Like we mentioned earlier, the place is not just about food. There is a specialised trainer who attends to the grooming of the dogs.

He does their pedicure, checks their skin regularly, and gives them a bath every now and then. The regular dogs at the club share a close bonding with their trainer.

Now that you have a place to laze around with your dogs and also dine in style, do you still need to think where to head for a picnic with your kids and pets next time?.
