In a shocking incident Shah Rukh Khan was detained at Newark airport for two hours. Though he was released after the Indian embassy intervened into the matter.
According to reports, the actor was detained after his name flashed on the computer. The surname 'Khan' features on the alert list of US airport officials since the 9/11 attacks. Shah Rukh was asked many questions about the purpose of his visit. Even his hand baggage was checked. Further he was not even allowed to make a single phone call for about an hour.
The King of Bollywood arrived at Newark Airport in United States today to attend the Independence Day function here.
The security officials at Newark Airport interrogated SRK for two hours.
The arrest is unfortunate as SRK is globally acclaimed celebrity. The Bollywood fraternity has slammed the USA for this behaviour.
This incident has taken place after SRK sealed a deal with Fox Star Studio for marketing the much awaited Karan Johar next flick 'My Name is Khan'. Incidentally the movie touches the same issues of the minorities being targeted for no reason and fault of theirs, based only on suspicion and no solid proof. .
