SAITAMA, Japan (AP) _ Edmilson and Yuichiro Nagai both scored Saturday as the Urawa Reds defeated FC Tokyo 2-0 in J-League first division football. Edmilson opened the scoring with a left-foot blast in the fourth minute, and Nagai sealed the win with two minutes left in regulation as Urawa moved atop the league standings with 29 points after 15 games.
Elsewhere, Kashima Antlers got first-half goals from Mitsuo Ogasawara and Masashi Motoyama en route to a 2-1 win over Jubilo Iwata. Jubilo's Robert Cullen pulled one back midway through the second half but the hosts failed to equalize.
Kashima, the defending J-League champions, are one point back from Urawa and two points ahead of Nagoya Grampus, which lost 2-1 to Albirex Niigata. Brazilian Hulk and Kosei Shibasaki scored in the first half and Diego added another after the break as Tokyo Verdy posted a 3-0 win over JEF United Chiba, which lost for the first time under Scottish manager Alex Miller, formerly assistant coach at Liverpool.
In other matches, Shimizu S-Pulse and Consadole Sapporo played to a 2-2 draw while Vissel Kobe edged Omiya Ardija 1-0.
