Landmine recovered in Mayurbhanj

Baripada (Orissa), Nov 7 (PTI) A major tragedy was averted today when police unearthed a landmine and detonator, planted on a road along the border area in Orissa''s Mayurbhanj district. The landmine, planted on the BG-Kashidihi road close to Orissa-Jharkhand border, was unearthed by police after being tipped off by locals, a senior police officer said.

"About 20 kg explosives, detonators and wire used for triggering the blast were recovered," the officer said. The Maoists had put up posters and leaflets in the area some days ago.
