London, Nov 5 (PTI)R&B superstar Rihanna has put the infamous assault incident behind her and will return to stage with a live solo performance at the American Music Awards. The ''Disturbia'' hitmaker''s career had taken a halt after being assaulted by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in February and she had disappeared from the public eye.
But Rihanna is set to make a grand comeback with her third album ''R for Rated'', which will release this month. The AMAs performance on November 22 will be Rihanna''s third in a row, she sang Rehab at the 2008 ceremony and Umbrella in 2007, when she also teamed up to duet with Ne-Yo, reported Contactmusic.
The 21-year-old singer was forced to pull out of a Grammy Awards showcase in February after her fight with Brown, left her beaten and bruised, and she hasn''t been back onstage alone since. Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez and the Black Eyed Peas are also set to perform at the 2009 American Music Awards.
