Portfolio-sharing on 1999 formula basis: Praful

Mumbai, Nov 5 (PTI) NCP tonight said portfolio-sharing with Congress in Maharashtra would be on the basis of 1999 formula and denied reports that the ministries would be shared in 23-20 ratio. "It is a win-win situation for both the parties.

We will hand over the letter of support to Governor tomorrow and the swearing in will take place probably on November seven," NCP leader Praful Patel told reporters at his residence in Worli area. The portfolio sharing would be done on the basis of the 1999 formula, Patel said, denying reports the ministries would be shared in the 23-20 ratio between the ruling alliance partners.

"We have given a stable government for the last ten years. The new government will also be a stable one," he said.

"People have given us a mandate and we will provide a stable government," the NCP leader said. "NCP and Congress are happy.

There is no compromise from either side," he said. "The conclusion (of negotiations) has been satisfactory," Patel said.
