Patna, Oct 4 (PTI) "I hadn''t imagined even in the wildest of my dreams that President Pratibha Patil''s office would call me seeking reports about my monetary condition," said former vice-captain of the Indian women football team Madhu Kumari. "The President came to know of my plight after a newspaper wrote about my condition and how I am seeking out my livelihood," she told PTI today.
"I am sure with the President taking a personal interest, I will definitely get a job at Central or state level and will be able to pursue my career," 28-year-old Madhu said. Madhu said "I dispatched a letter to President''s office through e-mail seeking a Central or state government job.
" Madhu, a regular member of the women''s football team since 1999 was the vice-captain of the Indian soccer team that toured Iran in 2007, is a sister of a poor roadside tea stall owner in the state capital. "The Officer on Special Duty (PR) to the President, Archana Dutta posted at Rashtrapati Bhavan telephoned me seeking information about the kind of help I am looking for," she said.
