Maize futures plunge by 1.46 pc on weak global cues

New Delhi, Nov 4 (PTI) Maize prices reacted and plunged by 1.46 per cent today following short-selling at prevailing higher levels, tracking weak global and spot market sentiments. At the NCDEX counter, December contract delivery lost fresh grounds of 1.46 per cent at Rs 1,009 per quintal, with an open interest in 9,830 lots.

Current November contract also slipped by 1.16 per cent at Rs 982.50 per quintal, having an open interest in 4,130 lots. Marketmen said after showing almost three per cent rise yesterday, maize prices came under profit selling pressure and yielded fresh ground.

Fall in its prices at overseas and domestic markets forced traders to book profit at higher levels, they added.PTI SDG RS.
