New Delhi, Nov 4 (PTI) Jeera futures prices surged over four per cent to hit upper limit today largely on strong export and domestic demand. Paucity of stocks following restricted arrivals from producing regions also supported the upsurge.
Jeera for far-month January month contract surged by 4.87 per cent to Rs 13,760 per quintal with an open interest in 423 lots. The spice for delivery in current November contract also traded higher by 0.17 per cent to Rs 13,324 per quintal with an open interest of 4,230 lots.
Traders said pick up in export and domestic demand against restricted arrival in the physical market mainly attributed to the steep rise in jeera prices at futures market here.
