Wed, Nov 4 01:00 PM

New Delhi, Nov 4 (PTI) Cardamom futures prices today rose by 1.34 per cent on pick up in demand in the spot markets owing to the marriage season. Cardamom for February-month contract rose by 1.34 per cent to Rs 755 per kg in trading volume in three lots, while December contract gained by 0.69 per cent to Rs 797 per kg in trading volume of 17 lots.

The spice for current November contract edged up by 0.18 per cent to Rs 826 per kg in clocked business volume in 16 lots. Restricted arrivals from producing regions also supported the rise in prices.

Traders said pick up in demand in the spot markets due to marriage season, mainly led to rise in cardamom prices at futures market. They said, restricted arrivals from southern region too supported the uptrend in prices.
