Another swine flu death in Pondy; toll mounts to six

Puducherry, Oct 31 (PTI) A 25-year-old woman today died of swine flu here, taking the toll due to the pandemic in the Union Territory to six, health officials said. The woman from Villupuram in neighbouring Tamil Nadu was admitted to the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) here on October 17, a top official of the institute said.

"Her condition became complicated and critical with respiratory distress," he said. The six -- four men and two women-- who had succumbed to swine flu were from neighbouring districts of Tamil Nadu.
