Nepal President to be sworn in on July 23

Kathmandu, July 21 (PTI) Nepali Congress leader Ram Baran Yadav, who was elected as the country's first President today, will be sworn in on Wednesday. The Chief Justice of Supreme Court will administer oath of office to Yadav, officials said.

He will then visit to Sheetal Niwas at Maharajgunj, the office-cum-residence of the new President, in a convoy. Yadav will ride on a black Limousine car used by former King Gyanendra, followed by security vehicles.

He will be given military bodyguards and a full security unit consisting of 1,000 army personnel. Meanwhile, officials said the election to the post of Chairman of the Constituent Assembly will held on Thursday.

The three-party alliance comprising Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and MPRF have already decided to back UML candidate Subhash Nemwang for the post. PTI.
