Dhoni wins toss, to bat

Karachi, July 1 (PTI) Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat against Pakistan in their crucial Super Four stage match of the Asia Cup at National stadium here today. Pakistan are being led by Misbah-ul-haq in absece of regular captain Shoaib Malik, who was ruled out after failing in a fitness test.

Pakistan made three changes bringing in debutante off- spinner Saeed Ajmal, pacer Abdul Rauf and opener Nasir Jamshed. India made four changes dropping Robin Uthappa, RP Singh, Pragyan Ojha and Manpreet Gony and recalling Piyush Chawla, Virender Sehwag and Praveen Kumar.

Irfan Pathan will play his first match of the tournament. Teams: India: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (Capt), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Yusuf Pathan, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Piyush Chawla, Ishant Sharma, Irfan Pathan, Praveen Kumar.

Pakistan: Misbah-ul-Haq (Capt), Salman Butt, Nasir Jamshed, Younis Khan, Mohammad Yousuf, Sarfraz Ahmed, Shahid Afridi, Sohail Tanvir, Rao Iftikhar Anjum, Abdur Rauf, Saeed Ajmal. Umpires: Tony Hill (NZ) and Ian Gould (Eng) TV umpire: Akhtaruddin (BD) Match referee: Alan Hurst (Aus).
