Top-ranked Australia won the toss and elected to bat first in the fifth one-day international against India on Thursday.

Victorian quick Clint McKay will make his Australia debut as the injury-ravaged world champions made three changes to the team that won the fourth game in Mohali by 24 runs to level the seven-match series 2-2.

McKay, 26, replaces injured Mitchell Johnson while Adam Voges and medium-pacer Ben Hilfenhaus come in for all-rounder Moises Henriques and medium-pacer Peter Siddle, who returned home due to injuries.

India have been strengthened by the return of in-form batsman Gautam Gambhir, who missed the Mohali game due to injury. The hosts made one other change ---- medium-pacer Munaf Patel replacing Ishant Sharma, who is struggling for form.
