STANFORD, Calif (Reuters) - Lindsay Davenport will miss next week's Los Angeles Classic due to the recurrence of a knee injury, the WTA Tour said on Wednesday.
Davenport injured her right knee in practice before Wimbledon and had to pull out of the tournament after winning her first match at the grand slam. The same injury forced her out of this week's Stanford Classic.
Davenport, who returned to the tour last August after giving birth to her first child, has clawed her way back into the world top 30, but has only played one match since April.
The 32-year-old Olympic gold medalist and former world number one is scheduled to play at next month's Beijing Olympics.
