18 Indian lives are at stake in the UAE

Gathered here in Amristar are the parents' of 18 young men who work in the UAE, and have been charged with murder of a Pakistani youth. They have been arrested and put behind bars.

Balbir Boni Singh, one of the accused's father, said his son was due to return to India for his marriage. He added that a person by the name Hero, a Pakistani, was responsible for the murder of Mohammed Subaig. Another mother of an accused said that they were being tortured and even electrocuted by the UAE police, and were pressured to confess to a crime that they did not do.

These parents' have appealed to the Indian government, Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and even a Dubai-based businessman SP Singh Oberoi for the release of their sons.

I have been in UAE for last 11 years the actuall fact is that the biggest racket of illegal
liquor bussiness is carried by the punjabi's from India.,and if you see the way they treat the people who come to buy alcohol is more worst, They treat them as animals or more worst than that.If the countrys law bans such products than there is no right to any one to break the law of that country.

the[roblem with these stories is that i cant reach a consensus from listening to the parent's side of affairs.. they are obviously going to support their sons.. i have been in abu dhabi for a long time and my uncle was arrested once for overstaying.. i have to say that they are much more humane than the indian police.. the electrocution part is obviously fabricated..

@raul, ....the electrocution part..... it's obvious which side you are on. travel from india, and see the difference. UK has good diplomatic equations with the entire gulf area(and other countries too).

If the police there cannot find the real perpetrator using proper means such as cameras, witnesses, forensics etc they need to let these young guys go. Torturing people to get a confession is just so wrong. Anyway how could 18 people kill 1 guy? Too ridiculous
